Probably a guildhall, now 4 houses. C16 or earlier, Gothickised
in late C19. Timber frame on a high red brick sill. Frame
exposed with herringbone red brick infill to S half of street
front and ground floor of N half with red tilehanging above.
Steep old red tile roofs. Red brick S end with half timbered
gable. A long picturesque irregular building stepping up a hill,
the N part of 2 storeys with a projecting gabled wing at each
end, the S part of one and a half storeys with 4 large gabled
dormers rising above the eaves. Cusped bargeboards with finials.
Small flush box sash windows with 6/6 panes, lean-to tiled
bracketed hoods to doors up steps, and casement windows with
small panes in the dormers. Flat 3-light casement oriels with
small panes and cusped-tiled lean-to roofs on S end (No 60) tall
brick chimneys with diagonal grouped shafts rebuilt in 1900 (date
