Farmhouse. Late C17, extended in early C19, and c1980. Timber
frame plastered with steep old red tile roof. Originally a 2-
storeys and attic, 2 cell, lobby entry house facing S. E room
(hall) on E and unheated parlour on W. Original rear lean-to
outshut for service room and stair rebuilt c1980. In early C19 a
chimneywas built to heat the parlour, and the west end extension
of house and outshut built. Gabled rear wing c1980. House has 3
windows to each floor and entrance under hipped tiled porch
between 1st and 2nd from E. 3-light narrow casement windows to
upper floor. 2-light casements in same width of opening on
ground floor. Axial beam in hall, chamfered with stops. Wide
open fireplace, upper floor has C17 brick fireplace with 4-
centred head and chamfered jambs. (RCHM Typescript). Clasped-
purlin roof with high set purlins. Jowled posts. Ogee and bar
stop to axial floor beam at E end. 3-light mullioned window
exposed in former W gable, now blocked by C19 extension.
