Former railway station, now a house. c1847 by G T Andrews for York
and North Midland Railway Company. Brown brick with stone dressings,
slate roofs. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Centre bay breaks forward under low
gable. Central canted bay with sashes with glazing bars and dentilled
cornice; railway clock and Roman numerals in scalloped ceramic surround
immediately to left. Sashes with glazing bars and sills under slightly
cambered gauged brick arches in recesses under similar arches. Moulded
first-floor band. First floor: to centre, paired round-headed sashes
with glazing bars under round gauged brick arches. Oculus to pediment.
To right and left smaller sashes with sills and glazing bars under slightly
cambered gauged brick arches in recesses under similar arches. Oversailing
eaves, axial stacks.
