Churchyard Cross, 7 metres North of nave, Church of St. Mary
GV
II*
Churchyard cross. Late C13, restored C19. Sandstone. Square calvary of one step, squared and coursed masonry,
broached plinth surmounted by octagonal shaft with attached sculptural group on West facade. The shaft was originally
designed to take a slightly larger piece and what remains appears to represent the lower part of a ran carrying a
cross. The shaft is surmounted by an abacus cap and the cross is missing. (Pooley, Old Crosses of Somerset, 1877).
