Farmhouse. 1697 and 1740 with remodelling and additions in late
C18 and C19. Coursed rubble coal measures sandstone with ashlar
dressings, plain gables except to roadside elevation, which is
coped, with moulded kneelers, stone gable and ridge stacks, and
a stone slated roof. L-plan house, of two storeys, except for
the single storey bay to the roadside. West elevation of three
bays, the north bay with a 3-light hollow moulded chamfer
mullioned window with dripmould integral with the window head,
carried as a stepped moulding over the doorway to the south,
which has a quoined surround and a massive lintel bearing
inscription TLS
1740.
Two storey part to south with gable, a 3-light mullioned window
to the ground floor, together with a tall doorway with quoined
surround and massive lintel inscribed AL

and C20 panelled door with rectangular overlight. Above, two
C19 windows with plain stone surrounds, and C19 joinery. East
and north elevations of south range with 2-light hollow chamfer
mullioned windows, each with drips integral with the head.
South elevation formerly with sash windows, now with C20 joinery
above C18 2-light basement windows.
