Later C18 altered. C17 wing at rear. Rubble. Plain tile roof with 2 brick chimneys
and 2 gabled dormers. 6 windows on 1st floor, 3 with original surrounds, 3 later
C19, glazing bar sashes. C20 door to left of centre with flanking windows. 2 shop
windows, right hand one double. Lamp holder in front by Singers.
Interior: late C18 fireplace on ground floor. Staircase at join with older wing: 3
balusters to tread, heavy moulded and ramped handrail, bottom newel has a cluster of
4 balusters. The old wing is late C17 or circa 1700. East front is 2 storeys and
attic, coursed and dressed rubble, chamfered string to ground and 1st floors.
Pantile roof, external chimney to left, stepped with roof pitch. 4 bays. 2 ranges
of 3-light mullion and transom windows to left, a similar 2-light range to right.
Door in 2nd bay from right, ledged door with fleur-de-lys strap hinges, formerly with
raised surround, cornice hood. High above is oculus in square surround with decorated
spandrels. To rear 3 two-light mullion and transom windows; similar oculus to front.
Interior: stopped ovolo door surrounds. Built-in remains of stair with heavy wide
spaced turned balusters. Stairs to attic are hardwood and retain incised risers.
