Country house. mid/late C18. Coursed and squared rubble, predominantly ashlar faced, hipped slate roof, ashlar stacks
with moulded caps. Symmetrical classical garden front; 3 storeys, 5 bays, 12-pane sash widows of decreasing height on
the ground and first floor, 9 and 12-pane sash windows to second floor; Venetian window to centre of first floor,
centre light with keystone, sash window with Gothick tracery, moulded cornices to side lights; triple light window to
centre of second floor without enrichment. Central door opening, half-glazed door; solid side ashlar portico,
entablature with floral carving, moulded cornice and blocking course on 4 detached Doric columns with reeding and
acanthus enriched capitals; centre section breaks forward with glazed doors with flanking pilasters, further pilaster
set back to each side. Right return with 2 large Venetian windows to ground floor. Elaborate domestic quarters at rear;
single storey; that facing garden with an attached single storey gazebo under a pyramidal slate roof, semi circular
head door opening, half glazed door, semi circular window to each side. Hexagonal wooden bellcote with bell, ogee
shaped lead roof, directly below a large clock. Particularly rich interior executed in the Adam Style; entrance hall
with a well staircase, turned and twisted balusters, ramped handrail, dado panelling; lantern with plaster decoration,
cornices. Panelled drawing room to left with fireplace; dining room to right with fitted serving table, adjacent hatch
from hall, marble fireplace, cornice; adjacent circular ante-room, cornice; room to its rear with elaborate doorcase,
fireplace; Further root with domed ceiling, fireplace with mantle suppported on caryatids; fireplaces to first floor.
