Two contrasting parts to one building in a prominent site at the end of Corporation
Street. The eastern part is a 3 storey square stucco house circa 1800. Hipped
slate roof. 3 windows, sashes with glazing bars. Iron balconies to 1st floor.
Doorcase with open pediment and fanlight. The southwest block is said to be an
early work of J F Bentley, 1867, and formed part of the Convent of Perpetual Adoration,
train gabled range runs north and south with subsidiary gabled range at south-east
corner. Coursed rubble with freestone dressings. Tiled roofs. Buttresses, lancet
windows, large stone stacks etc.
