Milestone. Early C19. Limestone and cast iron. Cambered head, attached cast
iron plaque central semi-circular head, inscribed in incised lettering "5
miles to Taunton", slightly damaged bottom left. The road from Taunton to
Chard was turnpiked in 1779.
