Farmhouse. Early C17, enlarged early C18. Red sandstone random rubble, quoin strip to left, slate roof, stone stack to
right of entrance, brick stacks at gable ends with right return elevation and stack all rebuilt in brick mid C20. Main
elevation faces South with gabled projections at rear, irregularly placed. 2-storeys, 3:2 bays; 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-light
casements with glazing bars, third bay left red sandstone flat roofed porch, segmental headed opening with 6-light door
and 5-light flanking windows. Rear elevation North-east, gabled wing contains early C17 4-centred arch doorway with
stud and plank door. This was never the old manor house in Halse. How much of the earlier building survives is not
known as interior not accessible at time of survey (March 1983).
