Farmhouse. Late C18 or early C19, possibly incorporating part of an
earlier house. Front elevation buff brick in Flemish bond, right gable
end chequered red and grey brick. Slate roof. 3 storeys and basement.
Buff brick plinth in Flemish bond. Dentilled brick eaves cornice. Flat
eaves soffits. Shallow-pitched hipped roof. Slightly-projecting brick
gable end stack to left and brick ridge stack to right of centre.
Regular 4-window front of recessed sashes with thin glazing bars, three
to left and one to right of stack; nine-pane under eaves to second floor,
sixteen-pane with cambered heads and splayed rubbed brick voussoirs to
first floor, and similar windows but with additional vertical margin
lights to ground floor (except right end window), that under third
first-floor window from left set in rectangular single-storey buff brick
bay with plinth and parapet. Door, central to three left windows, with
four moulded panels, rectangular fanlight with margin/lights, set behind
Doric porch with panelled frieze and moulded cornice. 3-storey parallel
rear range to right, red brick, with dentilled eaves cornice, hipped
slate roof, and brick ridge stack. 2-storey addition to right gable end
of parallel rear range. Interior not inspected.
