Farmhouse. Mid 15th century, with early-to-mid 19th century facade.
Timber-framed. Ground floor of front elevation clad in chequered
red and grey brick, first floor hung with alternate bands of plain
and fishscale tiles. Ground floor and first floor of left gable end
weatherboarded. 4 timber-framed bays:- open hall of 2 slightly
unequal-length bays, with cross passage in shorter left end bay;
storeyed end bays. 2 storeys and garret on stone plinth. Left
gable end jettied. Roof half-hipped with gablet to left, hipped to
right. Multiple brick ridge stack off-centre to left. Irregular
fenestration of 3 windows; one 3-light and two 2-light leaded
casements; no windows to left of stack. Panelled door with 2 top
lights under flat bracketed hood slightly to left of stack. Rear
lean-to. Interior: Exposed framing. 2 adjacent 4-centred arched
doorheads with solid spandrels between former ground-floor passage
and left end bay. Large gunstock jowls. Moulded central crown-post
on cambered and formerly heavily braced tie-beam. Ogee end-of-hall
braces on first floor.
