Late C19. Architect. C B Hutchinson. The right side portion is of 2 storeys
and has a most elaborate and fantastic Dutch gable of red brick with stone and
flint diaperwork. Curved pediment on top. 4 moulded brick pilasters and 3 round-
headed arches. Below this is a very wide modillion cornice. The 1st floor has
6 moulded brick pilasters and mullioned and transomed casements set in arcading
between. The ground floor has 2 large cambered windows and a right side doorcase
with blank cartouche above surmounted by a stone curved pediment and flanked
by console brackets. Freely interpreted Gibbs surround. On the left is a 1
storey portion with a slate roof having 2 stuccoed gables with curved pediments
and console brackets. Underneath this is a modillion cornice. The ground floor
has 13 moulded brick pilasters but only 6 windows set in arcading - the other
window spaces have blanks. Stone and brick plinth.
