Farmhouse, formerly Ingoldisthorpe Hall. Late C16 or first half of C17.
Originally perhaps an H plan house, south gable of east wing now removed
and centre extended to form "L" plan. 2 storeys, attics to west wing
only. Carstone, some galleting, brick dressings. Pantiled roofs and
plain tiled roof to centre wing. South front has one ground and 3 first
floor casement cross windows with glazing bars, brick dressings with brick
drip moulds, one ground floor French door. Central gable porch with brick
dressings, round headed brick chamfered arch. East returned C19 gable
has kneeler and coped parapet with one ridge stack. South gable of west
cross wing has one ground and one first floor 4 light casement cross window,
one attic 2-light cross window, kneelers and coped gables. North face
has 2 C17 crow stepped gables to north face of west cross wing and to
north of now partly replaced east cross wing, with apex stacks. 2 storey
later C17 projection with lower roof from north gable of west cross wing
with 2-light wooden framed ovolo moulded casement with diamond section
mullion, at first floor at north east perhaps re-used. Interior: ground
floor at north east has bressumer fireplace of former east cross wing.
West cross wing has stile and muntin panelling with frieze to first floor
at south, attic has butt purlin roof with arched bracing and no ridge.
Additional wing to north west has stile and muntin panelling to ground
floor, ground and first floor fireplaces with bressumers.
