House, now in 2 occupations. Early to mid C17 with datestone of 1624.
Previously listed as Thornham Cottage. Knapped and galleted flint with
carstone and brick dressings, black glazed pantiled roof. 3 window 2 storey
and attics house with central porch. c.1800 second pile addition to east
at rear, gabled addition forming "L" plan c.1900 at east at front. Gabled
2 storey porch knapped and galletted flint with squared carstone diapering
and brick dressings. Open ground floor brick entrance arch, chamfered brick
first floor 3-light casement window with drip mould above, datestone with
initials "R T A 1624". Above brick coped gable and pantiled roof. Range to
west with one ground and one first floor single light casement and paired
casement with brick dressings and arched headed wooden frames. To east one
ground floor single light paired casement 2 first floor single light and one
paired casement, brick dressings and wooden Gothic arched headed frames.
Brick quoins and corbelled out eaves cornice, 3 2-light casement flat roofed
attic dormers with Gothic arched headed frames. 3 C19 brick ridge stacks,
set of 4 shafts to east and west gables, 2 shafts in centre. c.1900 east
end gables cross wing in squared clunch with brick dressings with one ground
floor single light and one 2-light casements, one first floor 3-light and
one gable 2-light casements, brick dressings, Gothic arched headed wooden
frames. Second pile to rear c.1800, knapped flint with 2 ground floor sashes
with glazing bars and 2 French doors. 3 first floor sashes with glazing bars
with blind boxes. Interior : c.1700 panelled room to west ground floor.
