Farmhouse: early C18, altered early and mid C19. Flemish-bond
brickwork on ashlar plinth, tiled roof. Three-window front, 3
room deep, 2 storeys and attics. Front door 9 panels, up 4 semi-
circular stone steps: panelled reveals, plain architrave, 3-pane
rectangular fanlight, slight open pediment over: outline of former
curved hood on brickwork. Either side a 4-pane wide sash window,
stone sill, rubbed brick flat arch, centre taken up as 'keystone'.
First floor 3 similar windows, save centre 2-pane sashes. Moulded
brick eaves, changes to brick-on-edge dentil on right return.
Hipped roof, centre well to front 2-room part, separate hipped roof
behind: 3 gabled dormers, 2-pane sashes, moulded bargeboards.
Chimneys within envelope left and right. Single-room deep
projecting wing at rear of left return, part originally single
storey, raised C19. Interior: elliptical arch with fluted
keystone to opening at rear of entrance hall: stairs turned
balusters, swept-handrail, cut string: may be remade in part using
original features. Forms group with 2 buildings formerly
connected with iron works (q.v.).
