4/122 Memorial lych gate at churchyard
entrance to Church of St. Lawrence


GV II

Lych gate of c1920 by F.L. Griggs. Timber frame on low limestone
walls; stone slate roof. Square pyramidal sprocketed roof topped
by stone ball finial. Timbers tenon jointed with projecting pegs.
Beams carry carved memorial inscription to both World Wars. Stone
base walls incorporate stone seats. Original timber gate has 2
alternative closed positions: to street or to churchyard.
