1860. By Poulton and Woodman in a mixed neo-Greek and Romanesque style. Ashlar
with slate roof. Symmetrical front of 2 storeys. The ground storey has
elliptically headed windows with cast-iron glazing flanking a triple arched
portal with fanlights and keystones. The impost blocks are part of a band right
across the building. The upper floor has arched windows flanking and set back
with 5 light window, arched narrow lights, the outer ones shorter; the imposts of
the outer windows form part of a continuous band. Modillion cornice broken by
central pedimented gable with oculus. Side elevations with tall paired arched
windows and continuous modillion cornice. Low apsed north end. Interior: gallery
at entrance end, round arched apse.
