SP 13 NE 1/60 BLOCKLEY Northwick Hill

Circa 1700, altered and extended farmhouse. Two storeys and gable-lit attic. Squared
and dressed rubble, band over ground floor, chamfered plinth. Slate roof with coped
verges and end chimneys. In 2 parts. Right hand part: 3 windows, 3:1:3 light
mullioned casements and central later gabled porch.
'Double-pile' plan: 2 gables to east with 2 and 3-light mullioned windows. Cross-
mullion stair window. House linked to barn (qv) by contemporary lower 2 storey range,
built of coursed and squared rubble and with slate roof. On 1st floor a small window
to left and a 3-light mullion window to right; 2 loft doors approached by modern
wooden steps. Two doors, the right hand one in chamfered surround - possibly a
through passage, possibly domestic and just possibly a vestigial long-house element -
see chamfered beam with ogee step in ground floor left hand section.
