Late C18 frontage, practically symmetrical in 3 parts. Rubble; slate roof with
moulded eaves and coped verges, 4 ridge chimneys. 2.2.2 windows, glazing bar
sashes, outer parts have the first floor windows paired with a dividing stone
mullion. Ground floor windows except in the right-hand section have moulded
architraves. Doric portico with slender columns in left hand section; above a
large carved heraldic panel. Former segment headed coach entry in right hand
section, now entrance to bars. Rear: 2 long ranges forming courtyard extend
westwards, stepped down roofs; small piece of C19 timber frame on first floor to
south. Interior: "Archery Bar" has good (imported) C18 panelling.
