5/33 Bath House with first floor Summer
House in grounds immediately south-
west of Dowdeswell Court

Bath house with first floor summer house. Built 1773. Ashlar and
ashlar-faced brick, stone slate roof. Octagonal plan. Ground
floor entered from east, access to summer house above. Three small
rectangular windows to ground floor. Openings for sash windows to
first floor above, two blind windows with sashes painted onto
recesses at north-east corner. Band between ground and first
floors. Pyramidal roof with ball finial. Octagonal cold plunge
with steps down south side on ground floor.
Contemporary fireplace in first floor summer house with egg and
dart mouldings, cornucopias on frieze, over mantel with central
oval plaque depicting naked women, swan-necked pediment above.
Contemporary ceiling rose. (Severn and Trent Water Authority).
