Marked as Martlet House on 6" O.S. map. Former farmhouse, now
detached house. Early C17, refaced C19, C20 extensions.
Coursed squared and dressed limestone, thin stone slate roof,
ashlar stacks. L-shaped plan with former outbuilding, now garage
attached to right gable end, C20 extension rear left. Symmetrical
2-storey, 4-windowed facade lit by 2 and 3-light hollow-chamfered
stone-mullioned casements with stilted heads, carved spandrels,
stopped hoods and leaded panes. C19 plank door off centre left
with stopped hood. 3-light ovolo-chamfered window in left gable-
end. Flat gable-end coping with gable-end stacks and axial stacks
with moulded cappings.
Interior 3-room plan to main body. Two 'Tudor'-arched fireplaces,
one moved from upstairs with chamfered 'bulging-bag' stops. Open
fireplace with wooden bressumer. Spine beam with stepped stops,
similar stops at ends of floor joists.
