Barn, partly converted into cottage. C18, south end partly
converted and extended to form a cottage C19. Rubble with a stone
slate roof. Long rectangular plan with three projecting gabled
porches on the west; cottage incorporated into the south end and
extended back to the east. West front (facing the church q.v.)
from left to right: garage door; gabled porch (largely rebuilt)
formerly opening onto a threshing floor with a double-width
entrance (now blocked) with a single-width doorway and a 2-light
window with segmental head inserted in the blocking; gabled porch
with two stable doors and plank infill at the front, under a single
timber lintel, early 3-light window with leaded panes to the first
floor granary, exposed roof truss and clock to the gable above,
stone steps up the right-hand return to plank door; double width
entrance to threshing floor with a single segmental-headed door
inserted in the blocking; projecting porch with slate-hung gable
and double-width entrance (now blocked) with a stable door; 3-
light fixed casement above.
cottage, incorporated into the south end of the barn with segmental-
headed windows and doorway. Cast iron overshot water wheel at rear
(by. T.H, and J.D. Daniels, Stroud).
Roof; central slate-hung roof lantern with pyramidal roof and
weathervane halfway along the ridge of the barn roof implies the
use of the roof space for pigeons or doves.
Interior; collar and tie-beam roof trusses, some with timber
replaced C20. The building is reputed to have at one time
functioned as a water powered cider mill.
