GV II
Former farmhouse. Mid C17, C18 and C19. Coursed squared and
dressed limestone. Stone slate roof. Ashlar stacks. Rectangular
early C18 range possibly with earlier origins, late C18-early C19
extension at right-angles at front, forming an 'L'-plan. The C17
part range lies at the right gable end of the C18 range. The C17
range appears to have once been more extension as a blocked stone
fire surround is visible in the gable end. Small C19 extension and
C19 gabled porch in front of the remains of the C17 range. Early
C18 range; two storeys and attic, lit by three C20 roof dormers at
rear. Four bays, of which two are now visible. All C20 two-light
stone-mullioned windows at front. One 2-light trefoil-headed
casement with carved spandrels. C20 two and 4-light steel
casements at rear. Late C18-early C20 extension at right angles
lit by two and three-light stone-mullioned casements, some C20.
C17 range with a 3-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement
at rear. The house reputed to contain a priest's room and a reset
C14 doorway. Interior not inspected.
