GV II

Farmhouse with attached cartsheds and stables. Mid C17; mid-late
C19 additions. Random and coursed rubble limestone; ashlar
chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic. Long cartshed
range to rear incorporates stables at centre. Front: C17 part to
right has 2-window fenestration, 3-light recessed cavetto mullioned
casements with hoodmoulds; C19 restored casements to ground floor.
Central projecting 2-storey gabled porch with chamfered doorway and
hoodmould to stone lintel; 2-light chamfered mullioned casement
above. Two gabled roof dormers with C20 casements. Ashlar ridge-
mounted chimneys at ends of original house. Gable to front and
rear of C19 addition to left; single-window fenestration, 3-light
to ground floor, 2-light above and single-light to attic, all with
hoodmoulds. Projecting verge to gable. North end: eaves-mounted
chimney, upper part in yellow brick. Outshut to rear of C19
addition. Rear: 2 wings, that to right with timber casement
fenestration having timber lintels. Extended with south-facing
cart shed range incorporating stable with doorways in arcaded
front. Interior not inspected.
