Detached farmhouse. Late C16; C17 and C19 alterations. Random rubble and
ashlar limestone; ashlar and artificial stone chimneys; stone slate roof.
Two-storey with attic, cross-wing at east end. South front: main part of
building to left with 2-window fenestration, all 3-light recessed cavetto
mullioned casements with hoodmoulds, 2-light upper floor casement to left.
Central cross-passage doorway with chamfered opening and hoodmould. Two ridge-
mounted chimneys to this range. Projecting gable end of cross-wing to right;
single-window fenestration, C19 enlarged ground floor 3-light, 3-light above,
and attic recessed chamfered 2-light, all with hoodmoulds. Ashlar masonry to
ground floor, rubble above, possibly indicating that cross-wing was timber
framed originally. East end: chimney gable to left; three 2-light casements to
right, one blocked at low-level. North side: 2-window fenestration to range
with cross-passage and doorway as to south side; ground floor 2-light to left
with Tudor arched lights, possibly an early C16 window. Small stair-light at
right end. Interior: stone spiral stair at west gable end. One room has beam
supported on large stone corbel. Barn to south east (q.v.).
