2/39 Arbour Elm Cottage
II
Two cottages, semi-detached. Late C17-C18 and C19-C20. Square-
panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill. Red tile roof
brick stacks. Rectangular plan. C19 lean-to at left gable end and
C20 lean-to at right gable-end not of special interest. 1½
storeys. Upper floor lit by four roof dormers with 2-light C20
plate glass casements. Ground floor lit by 2-light casments
glazing bars. Two Cl9 plank doors with small gabled canopies
supported on wooden brackets. Left gable-end stack incorporated in
C19 extension, central axial stack with sawtooth brickwork
decoration at top.
