Paper mill, now disused. Early C19. Limestone ashlar, with open timber
slatted ventilators on timber framing to top floor, low-pitched hipped slate
roof. Three storeys, 4-windowed, sashes with glazing bars and stooled stone
cills to ground and first floor, continuous ventilating opening second floor;
at right-hand end large flat segmental-headed opening with pair of plank
doors under paired sash with square central mullion. At south end, sashes
to right on three floors, as main front, then approached by 13 stone steps
externally across end of building, plank door with another opening in top
floor. Opposite facade, long side, as courtyard side. A rare extant and
unspoiled mill structure in a town formerly replete with mills.
