Gateway. Circa 1860, probably by W. Burn. Ashlar and rubble
masonry. Gateway in garden wall. Facing house: boarded door,
in 4-centred arch, double-ovolo moulding to arris, low-relief
carving in spandrels. Door framed by plain Roman Doric pilasters
set back a little, plain frieze, pediment with shell and low relief
carving within. Either side short length of ashlar wall with
plain coping, a little below pediment: beyond wall slightly
thinner, of rubble, top swept down: step to lower level. Forms
group with House and Pyramid (q.v.)..
