House. Early C18, with early C19 wing. Brick and tile. Queen Anne house
with a symmetrical front (east) of 2 storeys and attic, 1.3.1 windows. The
roof is hipped, with a stone moulded and coved eaves cornice, divided by a
pediment above the slightly-projecting centrepiece. Walls of red brickwork
in Flemish bond, with stone plain 1st floor band, plinth; the openings
have rubbed cambered arches with keystones, and there is an oval window in
the pediment, with a plain architrave and keystone. Sashes in reveals.
Doorcase with cornice, decorated frieze, fluted heads to panelled pilasters,
architrave enclosing a fanlight with leaded decoration, panelled reveals
and 6-panelled door. The south elevation is symmetrical, of 3 windows
(2 blank) and a plain door: at links at its west corner with a wing (early C19)
extending southwards, of 2 storeys, 3 windows, hipped roof, flint walls with
brick quoins, head and cill bands, and large diamonds in the panels, rubbed
flat arches: casements. The plain north elevation has Flemish bond--brickwork
with blue headers, 1st floor band, plinth, and 2 casements (the larger of old
leaded lights). Inside the north side room has C18 panelling, there are
panelled doors in architraves, and a C18 staircase.
