5/7 Hatche's Farmhouse

House. C16 timber frame, raised as a timber-frame C18, with early C19
cladding and extension, late C20 restoration. Frame exposed (north) with brick
infill, but much of the lower wall is brickwork in Monk bond, the south wall
of English bond, with chamfered openings, brick dentil eaves. Half-hipped tile
roof, gabled dormers. Long narrow block, with a lower extension (stable)
at the west end; north elevation of one storey and attic, three windows.
Casements. Plain door within a gabled hood on rustic posts. Regular south
elevation of two storeys, three windows; casements; two C20 gabled brick
porches. The stable wing has a tiled roof, brick walls to the south, boarded
walls to the north, with a hay-loft door beneath a gable.
