House, once 2 cottages. C16, with minor extensions of the early C19 and C20.
Mixed wall materials, and a tile roof. A timber-framed late medieval hall, with
a chimney attached to the north east side, associated with a wing, now L-shaped.
2 storeys, irregular fenestration. The roof is ½-hipped at the old north west
end, the south east end now continued as a hip and brought to a lower eaves
above a C20 outshot: the wing is a tile-hung gable. Within the angle and in the
wing, the upper walls have tile-hanging, with fish-scale decoration, and below
the exposed framework has brick infill, above a deep stone base: the north west
end of the old block is completely framed, with brick and some plaster infill:
the south west side has a brick wall of Monk and Flemish bond, and the outshot
is boarded. Small casements. 2 boarded doors. Inside, there is a massive
chimney breast with a wood bressumer, a bread oven and exposure of the farming.
