C18. Dated 1756 on drainpipe. Grey headers with red brick window dressings, quoins
and cornice. Stucco band at 1st floor and above eaves cornice. Coped parapet
of grey headers. 3 storeys. 5 windows, sashes with glazing bars missing. Handsome
porch with fluted Ionic columns and curved modillioned pediment. Segmental headed
doorway in moulded architrave surround with keystone above and segmental headed
door of 6 fielded panels, the top 2 panels now cut away and glazed.
All the listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, with the listed street
lamps form a group, together with Nos 1 and 2 and the Parish Church of St Peter
and St Paul, Church Place and with the Red Lion Hotel and No 10 East Street. (No
45, High Street is of local interest).
