GV II
House, now shop pair. C16 with C18 cladding. Timber-framed with stuccoed
first floor to front. Plain tiled roof. Very tall ridge stack to left of
centre. Continuous jetty over ground floor, now underbuilt. 2 storeys.
Irregular fenestration of 5 windows on first floor, glazing bar sashes. 2 C20
double shop fronts on ground floor with inset central doorways. Interior: Sub-
stantial timber frame with jowled posts and side purlin queen strut roof. The
remains of a lower roof on the inside of the present C16 is puzzling but does
not have sufficiently heavy scantling to suggest that it antedates the main roof
structure. Very large stack, possibly inserted.
