Pair of cottages now partly used as hairdressers. 17th and 18th century timber
framed and pebble dashed with gambrel roof of clay machine-made plain tiles. Of
one storey with attics with three pan tile roofed beam to dormers. No 56 has central
ridge line stack and there is a gable end stack to No.54. Two simple entrance
doors and windows are double hung sashes of early 19th century with glazing bar
and moulded surrounds. Interior of No 54 retains chamfered and stopped beams,
planked door and winder staircase, etc.
