Facade of circa 1880. 2 storeys and attics with parapet, in yellow stock brickwork.
3 window range, pairs of double hung vertical sliding sashes with semi-circular
heads. Those to south of entrance forming a shallow bay window with stone coping.
Brick plinth with stone top course. Brick string course and moulded cornice
in brick and stone. Central flat topped portico, with stone columns, with ivy
leaf capitals and round arch of stone and red brick voussoirs. Low decorative
cast iron railing above. Window heads on ground floor form pointed arches over
the semi-circular openings in stone and red and black brick. The door has 6
fielded panels and a clear fanlight above. Steep red plain tile roof at rear,
hipped at west end, above a timber-framed wall. A wing extends north-west with
collar and side purlin roof exposed at gable end. Behind the facade the building
is timber-framed and appears to be C17 with some minor alterations and extensions
in the C18 and C19. General detailing good quality throughout. Included for
group value.
