House. C16 or earlier. Timber framed and plastered. Red plain tiled roof
hipped to left, lower range C20 extension hipped to right. Central red brick
chimney stack and red brick stack to left rear crosswing. L-plan. 2 storeys.
3:1 window range of C19/C20 vari-light casements. Central red tiled gabled
porch with board door to main range. Interior contains jowled storey posts,
some exposed wall studding, chamfered bridging joists originally with heavy
arched braces. Heavy timbers to side purlin roof. Halved and bridled scarf to
top plates. Solid tread stairs to crosswing attic. Shutter groove and mullion
slots visible. Homestead moat. RCHM 2.
