Stable block. Mid C19. Red brick in Flemish bond, slate roof. L-plan with
wings extending to SE and SW, the latter with an axial stack. One storey. SW
elevation, 2 original casement windows, one pair of double doors. SE elevation,
recessed porch with one original window and plain boarded door, 2 pairs of
double doors. Roof hipped, of shallow pitch. The NE range comprises 2 loose
boxes and 3 stalls, complete with iron and wooden partitions, hay racks, water
troughs, and floor of ridged blue tiles. The SW wing comprises 2 harness rooms,
one heated, the walls lined with matchboarding, complete with harness racks.
This building has survived unaltered since its original construction, with all
internal surfaces and fixtures unchanged, a rare example. Listed for its state
of survival, and Group Value with Beslyns Cottage and adjoining barn.
