House. Early C17, extended in C19. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade
red plain tiles. 3 bays facing SW, with central stack forming a lobby-entrance.
2 storeys. C19 single-storey wing to rear, with internal stack at end. 2-window
range of C19 casements. Central boarded door with flat canopy on scrolled
brackets. Date 1797 incised in modern plaster above door. 2 C19 twisted shafts
in Tudor Revival style. At the rear, below the eaves is a small C17 wrough
iron casement with diamond leading and early handmade glass, possibly original
to the building. Jowled posts. Heavy studding, primary straight bracing.
Chamfered axial beams, lamb's tongue stops in left bay. Exposed plain joists
of horizontal section in right bay, raised approximately 0.12 metre. C20 grates
in large wood-burning hearths. Battended and beaded doors. Face-halved and
bladed scarf in front wallplates.
