Water mill, C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with handmade red clay
tiles. Aligned approx. N-S on S bank of River Roding, with brick wheel-houning
at N end. 3 storeys with attics. All windows are C18 and C19 casements.
Original hoist mechanism inside. Converted to turbine operation in early C20,
with stationary engine in brick building to N of wheel-housing, installed in
1930s. Still in use at time of survey (1983).
