Complex group of cottages, early C19 and earlier. Timber framed, plastered and
weatherboarded, roofed with handmade red clay plain tiles and pantiles.
Originally comprised one block aligned approx. NE-SW, aspect SE, with hipped
roof and axial chimney stack near SW end. Chimney stack added near NE end in
front pitch of roof. Rear extension from NE end, with chimney stack in gable
end, and single-storey extension with single-pitch roof beyond. Parallel range
behind SW end, with central chimney stack and hipped roof. SW extension from SW
lend of original block, with chimney stack against party wall, and later parallel
range behind it with hipped roof. 2 storeys. No. 1 (at SW end) half-glazed door
with shallow hood, one double-hung sash window of 12 lights, late C19, and one
C19 casement window above. This elevation is set back'front _the remainder, and
is weatherboarded. No. 2 (SW end of original block), half-glazed door in fluted
wooden doorcase, early C19, and one casement window on each floor, C20. No. 3
(next cottage to NE) similar door and doorcase, and one double-hung sash window
of 12 lights on each floor. No. 5 (at SW end) C20 glazed door, simple doorcase
with shallow bracketed and dentilled hood on scrolled brackets and one double-
hung sash window of 12 lights on each floor.
