Largely 1849-52, but with C13 chancel and nave arcade. Ragstone rubble,
with some flint and brick, dressings of limestone. Red plain tile, grey
slate and lead roof. West tower of 2 stages, most of which are mid C19,
but with Cl5 base. South wall has remains of head and jambs of C15 doorway.
Nave is also mainly mid C19, but south arcade is C13, with 2 centred arches
of 3 chamfered orders on the north side and 2 on the south. Circular column
with moulded base and capital carved with foliage heads and devices. Chancel
is C13, with C15 east window of 3 trefoiled lights with vertical tracery
in 2 centred head. North wall has arcade of 3 bays, with 2 centred arches
of one chamfered arch. Intermediate piers have column of Purbeck marble
with moulded base and capital. Each bay of arcade encloses either a C14
or C13 window. Window in south wall is circa 1500 with 2 trefoiled lights
in a square head. Also in this wall is a 2 centred archway of circa 1500,
with attached shafts, with concave faces and a moulded capital and hollow
chamfered base. Chancel arch is mid C19. South aisle is mid C19 with some
re-used material including a Cl5 west window. South Chapel is mid C19.
Internally is Downes monument of 1607 - alabaster wall monument with kneeling
figure at prayer desk, side pilasters, cresting and 3 shields-of-arms.
