Circa 1540 with later alterations. Two storey house with large chimneystack
from the beginning. Timber-framed and close-studded building with plaster
infilling, the first floor of the east front and of the south half of the west
front oversailing on the protruding ends of the floor joists and brackets.
The end walls are built out so as to serve as angle buttresses to the first
floor. The north one has a stone in it inscribed "W A 1614" and is of brick
in English bond. Brick chimneybreast with offsets to each end wall. Steeply
pitched tiled roof with C16 chimneystack and pentice to north half of west
front. Gable ends with kneelers. Casement windows with brick dripstones over
those in west front. Two windows facing east and 2 windows facing west. Simple
doorcase. The interior originally had a crown post roof but this was replaced
with one of side purlins and queen struts.
