Probably a C16 framed structure. First floor over-sailing and supported
on wooden brackets. The whole of the first floor is covered with C19
fishscale tile hhanging which is carried up in centre as a parapet with
lead coping and brought down as half gable to right and left. Ridge tile
roof behind parapet in centre, hipped to left. One tall chimney stack.
Ground floor with early C19 odd shop windows including small splayed bay.
Stucco base to shop windows, with incised lines. Plastered soffit to
over-sailing first floor with moulded wooden fascia. The over-sailing first
floor is raised in centre and supported on carved brackets. On first floor
3 C18 sash windows with glazing bars in centre and large modern painted wooden
mullioned and transomed casements to right and left. Side elevation towards
Rochdale Road with exposed half-timbering on ground floor with red brick
infilling. Tile-hanging above.
