Terrace row. Circa 1838. Stock brick, part rendered with slate roof.
Four storeys and basement with rusticated base, string courses to each floor
and parapet to roof with stacks ranged from left to right. Two window bays
to each house. 10 bays in all. Glazing bar sash and sashes to 3rd and
2nd floors, with replacement metal casements to no. 33, all with gauged
heads. Margin light French windows on 1st floor with tented verandahs,
with cast iron valancing, trellis piers and simple rails. Bow windows to
ground floor, with replacement metal casements to No. 33 and with Ionic
pilasters. Doors to right of bows of 4 moulded and fluted panels with
semi-circular fanlights in projecting door surrounds at head of flight of
5 steps. Glazing bar sashes to basements, with fleur-de-lys rails and
acanthus headed principals. Part of the final stages of James Townley's
