2.
An early industrial building of the same date as the home, circa 1739-4O.
It is a building of exceptional length, though this is now partly obscured
by the addition of another building to the south-west. It was part of the
original paper mills and the top storey was used for drying paper. However
the roof was lowered, the front repointed and the buttress added in 1950.
2 storeys red brick. Tiled roof. The ground floor projects. 3 tall multipared
windows to the right of the north half, which is all that is now exposed.
To the left of this 2 tiers of 3 small windows. A similar arrangement originally
flanked the tall windows on the right and the whole arrangement was then repeated
in the south half of the building. This is now all obscured by the addition.
The recessed top storey is faced with weather-boarding. The Drying Loft roof
is of modified Queen post construction.
Turkey Court, Former Drying Loft at turkey Mills and Industrial Building adjoining
former Drying Loft at Turkey Mill to the west form a group.
