House. Late C18. Stone rubble with slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Windows
have dressed stone surrounds and are sashed with glazing bars. Central entrance
has dressed surround, now window with small-paned casement. Gable-end stacks.
Small gabled wing to right return has entrance with half-glazed door with steps
and plain iron balusters and handrail with terminal urns, moved from former
entrance. Rear has single storey gabled projection with flanking flat-roofed
projections; tall stair window has small-paned glazing, probably originally
higher. 2 large dormer windows. The house is recorded as being a public house
in the 1st half of the C19 and is on the main drove road from Scotland.
