School and headmasters house, now community centre and house. 1883. Coursed squared
rock-faced limestone with sandstone dressings. Plain tile hipped and gabled roofs.
Ridge cresting. Five prominent stone stacks in the pitch of the roofs. Single storey
school and two storey house. The south elevation has a gabled bay with two large
cross windows; to the right a porch bay set back, with half-hipped roof and moulded
pointed arch. The east elevation has a bay set back to the left with a 4-light
casement lighting the porch. To the right are two projecting bays with half-hipped
roofs and large rectangular windows with glazing bars. Recessed entrance bay with
the roof sweeping down over the single storey porch. The porch is gabled and has a
moulded four-centred arch. Pair of plank doors with over light. Flanked by narrow
single light windows. To the right again is a broad projecting gabled bay with a
pair of tall rectangular windows and three ventilation slits above. Recessed bay
with a 3-light casement, then the house has a projecting bay with hipped roof. Large
4-light casement window to the ground floor with segmental relieving arch over a
stone lintel. Two-light window above with lintel and relieving arch, rising into a
dormer with hipped roof. Recessed entrance bay to the right with a lean-to
bracketted hood. Single light window to the right and a 2-light window above. Walls
and railings attached to east, enclosing front area. These have chamfered stone
copings and are intermittently stepped down and surmounted by iron railings.
