Farmhouse. 1630 with minor C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed limestone with gritstone
dressings and quoins. Stone slate roofs with overhanging eaves, moulded stone copings
to gables and two stone ridge stacks, that to east massive. Two storeys plus attics,
four bays with advanced western bay, lobby entrance plan. Flush quoined, chamfered
doorcase with C20 plank door. To east, 5-light recessed and chamfered mullion and
transom window with dripmould. To west, similar 4-light window with similar 2-light
window in angle of building. Central 6-light recessed and chamfered mullion and
transom window with central major mullion and dripmould, in western bay. Over door,
stone plaque inscribed 'IBFB 1630' with 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window
above. Similar, but deeper, 5-light window to east and similar 4-light window to
west. In angle a 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window and beyond to west, in
advanced bay, similar 5-light window with dripmould. Above, in gable, similar 4-light
window with dripmould. To east, above 4-light windows, a full dormer with 3-light
recessed and chamfered mullion window. Fenestration all two pane casements or fixed
lights. West gable wall has mullioned windows. Interior has C17 bracketed stone fire-
place to kitchen, original oak panelled doors to most rooms with original latches and
stone newel staircase through two floors, the lower flight covered by wooden steps in C19
Also west bedroom has oak panelling with panelled overmantle to stone bolection-
moulded fireplace.
