9-1-86 Top Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Early C19. Red brick with hipped plain tile roof
and two brick ridge stacks. Plain plinth and moulded eaves
cornice. Two storeys. Symmetrical three bay south elevation
has a Tuscan Doric porch and panelled door with traceried
rectangular overlight. Flanked by glazing bar sashes under
wedge brick lintels. Three similar sashes above, the centre one
narrower. North elevation has a segment headed doorway with a
2-light segment headed casement to the right and a 3-light
segment headed casement to the left. Two segment headed 3-light
casements above. Two-bay west elevation has two glazing bar
sashes to the ground floor and two blind windows above, one with
a cross window set in. Low single storey range to east.
Interior has a stone flagged staircase hall with open string
stick baluster staircase with carved tread ends and wreathed
handrail.
